Anthony Perrego Sets Quick Time For Thursday’s World Finals Program, Rain Pushes Second Qualifying Session to Friday

Anthony Perrego earned an edge over his Super DIRTcar Series competitors Wednesday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, by setting Quick Time for Thursday’s World of Outlaws World Finals program.

The Montgomery, NY driver became the 17th driver to earn the Billy Whittaker Cars and Trux Quick Time award in 2024 with a 16.241-second lap. He also earned five points toward the championship standings.

Even with his first Quick Time, Perrego said he’s been building momentum toward strong Qualifying runs all season.

“We’ve improved on our Qualifying laps, and it’s gotten us up front in Heat Races,” Perrego said. “To come here to Charlotte and unload like we did tonight is great. We were eighth in Hot Laps and said we needed to pick up two-tenths, and we got two-tenths.”

While he didn’t change positions, the Montgomery, NY driver is now four points behind Tim Sears Jr. in the season standings for fourth and nine points behind Jimmy Phelps for third.

With rain falling prior to Friday’s World Finals Qualifying session, it has been postponed to Friday afternoon, with five more bonus points up for grabs in the race for the 2024 title. Thursday’s schedule remains unchanged.
